What are refrigerant dryers used for?

Refrigerat dryers facilitate the process of removing water vapour from compressed air by lowering the temperature to +3°C. This prevents the occurrence of moisture-related problems such as corrosion or freezing.

The advantages of refrigerant dryers

Refrigerant dryers have a few advantages over other drying techniques, we have listed a few below:

• Refrigerant dryers require less maintenance, making them a very cost-effective solution over a period of time
• They are more energy efficient compared to desiccant dryers which consume a lot more energy
• Ease of use and simple to integrate into existing compressed air systems

It is important to note that refrigerant dryers are not suitable for installation in environments where the ambient temperature goes below the dewpoint of the dryer, i.e., +3°C because this could cause the pipes of the system to freeze.
