As an existing customer with a Maziak Gold level service agreement, was having continual overheating issues with their compressor plant caused by local environmental dust. The dust was not something that could be removed as it came from the nearby production process. Unfortunately for this site when the compressors were installed by others the location chosen was a first floor plant room adjacent to production and there was no obvious alternative.
After years of reliability issues, enough was enough.
Maziak offered a full turn-key design and built a solution that would remove all the issues that a lack of plant room space and poor environmental conditions brought to the site.
A brand new air compressor package was designed and agreed upon. This would be supplied, fully turn-key built off-site, within a 40’ modified shipping container. This could then be located externally to the factory and, with some preliminary piping works, tapped into the ring main to take 100% of the duty and leave the existing plant to be used for backup.
This is delivered fully electrically and mechanically connected with lighting and local heating for frost protection, just needing an electrical and pipe connection. Site installation time is therefore minimal and removes the possibility of disruption to production. The container also had a roller shutter door installed for easier ingress and egress of plant and personnel.
Two off Atlas Copco GA30+ were installed inside the container with One Atlas Copco GA37VSD. These will be controlled by the sophisticated and clever Atlas Copco Optimiser central management panel to ensure the most energy-efficient running for this equipment is maintained around the clock. Class 2.4.2 air quality is maintained by utilising a high-quality air treatment plant.
Reliable equipment and with an anticipated long service life for a food manufacturing facility that requires maximum uptime and continuous availability. This is all backed with long-term Maziak service agreement cover and Atlas Copco extended warranty.
The completed container was delivered to the site and offloaded via Hiab directly into the required location which meant it could be installed at the site with no disruption to production and maintained the site's goal of maximum up-time.
